<p>Jointly designed by internationally renowned architect Professors Philip

Architect, the Mochtar Riady Building serves as the flagship building
of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School. Inspired
by the ancient Aseop fable where reeds sway in the face of treacherous
storms, the Reed-like design of the building represents qualities of resilience
and flexibility required to confront dynamic challenges in the contemporary
        business world. </p>
<p>The design philosophy of the nine-storey tall, 16,000 sqm building, is
centered on an environmentally friendly and energy conservative facility

a part in this design philosophy, with the successful implementation of
Janitza power management solutions for energy monitoring.</p>
<p> In this project, 142 units of Janitza power monitoring devices (Germany)
were installed in various locations of the building and integrated to

in HVAC department, Mr Josef Reindl, the Senior Manager in LVAC, and Mr
Matthias Braun, the Product Engineer in HVAC department. </p>
<p>At the seminar, the Vishay team highlighted the success in their Pole
Mounted Capacitor project with TNB. Mun Hean is proud to be the first
agent of Vishay to market this range of specially designed capacitors
exclusive in the market. The program extended to a visit of Vishay's R&D
facility. The Vishay laboratory is an accredited lab and recognized internationally
for its specialized facilities to test the full range of capacitors from
        LV to HV. </p>

Republic to visit the manufacturing facilities of Vishay ESTA. So extensive
was the manufacturing at Vishay that the manufacturing plants were divided
into Blatna I, II, III and IV, covering a combined area of 43,880 square
metres. The TNB team was introduced to Vishay's unique and stringent manufacturing
processes of HT capacitors, Power Electronic Capacitors, Furnace Capacitors
and other capacitors for special applications. The TNB engineers also
were given training on some of Vishay's new facilities, such as the specially
engineered lifting device for HT capacitors, and also an introduction
to the new unbalance protection relay, ESTAsym series used to provide
unbalance protection of capacitor banks. </p>
<p>The visit was a considerable success in all aspects; from the training
workshop to the success of all capacitor tests. To date, Mun Hean has
supplied 15 banks to TNB while another 2 banks will be installed soon.
Here, we would like to take the opportunity to thank Vishay for their

      <p><b><i><img
            src="../img/news_events/powermgmt1.jpg" alt="Mun Hean"
width="200" height="319" align="left" />'Managing the Challenges of Power Quality,'</i> </b>a technical seminar jointly organized by Mun Hean and Janitza of
Germany which concluded last week was a tremendous success. The
seminar toured Southeast Asia in three legs over 7 days, after
months of preparation by the teams from the respective countries.
The ballrooms of Crowne Plaza Hotel (Jakarta), Royale Bintang (Kuala
Lumpur) and Orchard Hotel (Singapore) provided the ideal setup for a
seminar on an increasingly conspicuous topic. </p>
<p>The seminar was opened by Mun Hean's Executive Director, Dr. Mok
Wai Hoe, before the main speaker, Mr. Rudolf Mueller captured the
audience's imagination with the possibilities of power management
solutions. Mr. Rudolf Mueller is the Sales and Marketing Director of
Janitza electronics GmbH. He carries with him more than 20 years of
experience in the field of energy distribution and is widely reputed
as the leading expert in power quality solutions. </p>
<p align="left">The seminar was a private event where invitation was
on exclusive basis. Nevertheless, the response received from
consultants, project owners, engineers and other industry players
was overwhelming. About 250 participants in total attended the three
legs of the seminar. There is no doubt that the topic of Power
Quality is attracting immense interest fuelled by the prominence of
managing energy efficiencies in the industry. Mr. Mueller presented
topics such as Power Quality Monitoring, Power Quality
Implementation and Power Quality Solutions. Demonstration booths
gave a carnival feel to the seminar where participants had the
opportunity to have hands-on experience on Janitza's range of Power
Quality products during the breaks. </p>
<p align="left">Mun Hean would like to take this opportunity to thank all the
participants for taking their time off to attend the seminar. In
particular, we would like to thank Mr. Mueller for his involvement
and all the team members from Mun Hean Singapore, Mun Hean Malaysia
and MHPP Indonesia for making this event a successful one. </p>

        Race Storage Center </p>
<p>Singapore - While the cityscape gears itself for first ever night race, Mun Hean is having a slice of the action behind the scenes. Five units of Helita E.S.E Pulsars were installed at the Race Storage Center to set up an enhanced lightning protection system for open area protection. </p>
<p>The night race lightning protection project was completed with testing and commissioning work by Mun Hean's engineering team. The use of a portable test kit with telescopic insulated pole to test the system is unique to the Helita E.S.E lightning protection design. This design assures the effective and efficient lightning protection capabilities of the Helita system upon installation on site. </p>
<p>This installation at the Night Race Storage Center follows the successful implementation of the Helita lightning protection system for the Sepang race circuit, Malaysia in 2000. As the city prepares for a roaring reception to the world's most prestigious motor race. Mun Hean and Helita continue to extend their comprehensive list of 350,000 references for Helita Lightning Protection worldwide. </p>
<p>Mun Hean is certainly proud to be involved in this history-making project. With that said, let the race begin! </p>
