Gardens By The Bay – DAXView Cloud iBMS Project Completed

We are especially proud to announce that Mun Hean Singapore has completed the Gardens By The Bay (GBB) – iBMS and Power Quality (PQ) and Water management project.  This project is powered by Mun Hean’s proprietary DAXView cloud iBMS.

This is a landmark project for Mun Hean that has been 2 years in the making – from design to installation. The sheer scale of design work and adoption of communication technology to cover a 250 acres project site is unprecedented.

When the iconic Gardens By The Bay was first opened in 2012, it was originally installed with Janitza Power Meters supplied by Mun Hean to manage the site’s electrical power.  More than a decade later, GBB commissioned an ambitious retrofit of its Power and Water monitoring system to cater to the development of the Gardens, as well as to accommodate future expansion plans.

The project requirements were a test of engineering aptitude – An integrated building management system that can 1) monitor power quality at indoor and outdoor points across 250 acres, 2) water monitoring with in-building and opened space metering points, 3) energy management for sub-tenant billing purposes, 4) power factor correction for dynamic loads.

Mun Hean designed a bespoke solution, using our proprietary DAXView Cloud iBMS to connect Janitza power monitoring devices and water monitoring devices via a Lorawan radio network. The connection of over 500 devices wirelessly across 250 acres has never been attempted before in Singapore.

Fully commissioned, the DAXView Cloud iBMS monitors the entire facility’s power consumption and water usage. This includes the iconic Cloud and Flower Dome. The platform provides live data feed and KPI analysis for the Gardens by the Bay Management to assess and manage the energy and water efficiency program.

In addition, Mun Hean also supplied 1,900kvar Sinexcel Advance Static VAR Generator to correct the power factor caused by the dynamic loads of the facility. The electrical protection system is also powered by MH Protection Relays.

It is with great pride that Mun Hean has completed this project and we look forward to future expansion of one of Singapore’s most iconic landmark.
